The simplest way to block all the ads on YouTube!

A redditor, within the sub-reddit /r/wevdev posted an incredibly simple trick to bypass any ads that you experience while watching YouTube videos. Though this can be done by simply adding an extension, I found this one to be the simplest among other available options.

All you have to do is add a period.
Adding a period (.) after the domain blocks all the ads on YouTube.  For example:

The usual URL to watch a video is:

Now, the adding a "." after .com makes the URL:

While watching a video from the second URL, you won't experience any ads.

This process works for both PC and Mobiles. But for mobile, you need to watch the video using browser in desktop version.

This process also works for many news websites and also for the websites serving paywalls.

How does it work?

The reason this works is adding a period causes no hostname to match. This causes the video to load but other aspects of the page like: ads, cookies fail to load.

How long will it work?

At the time of writing this article, the post had already gotten 5.7k upvotes. So, some folks at YouTube are already aware about this loophole. So, we don't really know for how long this trick will work. But for now, you can enjoy this awesome trick and also share with your friends and family.
